There's a problem — and it's easy to fix.
En español, «hay un problema» y «es un problema» comparten casi las mismas palabras. En inglés son dos motores distintos: there's dice que algo existe, it's lo identifica o sitúa. Domínalos y sonarás natural al reportar. 🔊
Cómo funciona
There is / There are presenta algo nuevo: dice que existe o que hay algo (there's = uno, there are = varios). It señala algo ya conocido para identificarlo (It's a billing issue), o para hablar del clima, la hora, la distancia y la situación (It's late). El there de existencia no significa «allí»: es una fórmula fija.
«Hay» nunca es it has ni have: es there is / there are. Y «es/está» para identificar o situar es it, no there.
Regla rápida: si en español cabe «hay», usa there; si cabe «es/está» señalando algo concreto, usa it.

Errores típicos
- ① it has / have para «hay». ✗ It has a problem / Have a problem → ✓ There's a problem.
- ② Concordancia. ✗ There is two options → ✓ There are two options.
- ③ Omitir there. ✗ Is a message for you → ✓ There's a message for you.
- ④ it para existir. ✗ It's a delay in the system (identifica) → ✓ There's a delay in the system.
Cultura en contexto
En atención al cliente, there's suaviza: There seems to be a small issue suena menos acusatorio que You have a problem. Y it mantiene el foco en el asunto, no en la persona.
« There's a quick fix for that, and it only takes a minute. »
Así reconoces que el problema existe (there's) y lo minimizas (it only takes a minute) en una sola frase.
Ojo: el it impersonal del clima o la hora (It's raining, It's late) no tiene equivalente en español, que simplemente omite el sujeto.
Shadowing
Escucha → repite → revela. There's se liga: ders-a; there are se reduce: der-ar.

Lee la frase en español y decide entre there's/there are (hay) o it's (identifica).
