This time tomorrow, I'll be reviewing your case.

Lección 97 · Future continuous: will be doing

Abres B2. will be + -ing describe un proceso en curso en un punto futuro (a las 3 estaré revisándolo), no una acción puntual. También suena a un futuro neutral y cortés: Will you be needing anything else? 🔊

Cómo funciona

will be + -ing = en curso en un punto futuro
01

Objetivo: proyectar una acción en desarrollo en un momento futuro y elegirla frente al futuro simple. will be + -ing pinta un proceso ya en marcha en ese punto: at 3 pm I'll be running the report (a las 3 ya estaré corriéndolo). El futuro simple will + base marca la acción completa o puntual: I'll run the report at 3 (empiezo a las 3). Y como no impone, will be + -ing suaviza una pregunta: Will you be needing anything else?

Mañana a esta hora estaré revisando tu caso.

will + base · PUNTUAL

I'll send the report at 3lo enviaré a las 3 (un acto)
VS
will be + -ing · EN CURSO
🔄
At 3 I'll be sending updates
At 3 I'll be sending updatesa las 3 estaré enviando avances

✗ At 3 I'll review it (si quieres decir «estaré revisándolo») → ✓ At 3 I'll be reviewing it. Y no dobles el futuro: will be reviewing, nunca will being review.

Errores típicos

futuro simple donde hay proceso
03
❌ MAL
para «estaré revisándolo»
✅ BIEN
proceso en curso a las 3
  • ① Forma doble. ✗ I will being review → ✓ I'll be reviewing.
  • ② -ing olvidado. ✗ I'll be review → ✓ I'll be reviewing.
  • ③ Confundir con plan fijado. I'm meeting them at 3 (cita) ≠ I'll be meeting them (en curso/previsto).
  • ④ Cortesía perdida. Para no presionar, Will you be needing…? suena mejor que Do you need…? al cierre.
🪤 Falso amigo: el español «estaré haciendo» sí existe, pero el hispanohablante suele caer en will do. Reserva will be doing para lo que ya estará en marcha.

Cultura en contexto

avisar de ventanas sin sonar rígido
04

En soporte, will be + -ing comunica una ventana de servicio de forma natural: we'll be updating the system tonight, so the app may be slow. Suena a plan previsto, no a una amenaza de corte. Y al cerrar, Will you be needing anything else? ofrece ayuda sin apurar al cliente.

« I'll be following your ticket all afternoon, so you won't have to explain it again. »

Aquí I'll be following promete un proceso continuo (todo el rato), no un solo gesto: transmite acompañamiento durante una ventana de tiempo.

Ojo: con verbos de estado (know, be, have) se prefiere el futuro simple: I'll know by five, no I'll be knowing.

Shadowing

I'll be se dice ligado: ail-bi 🔊
05

Escucha → repite → revela. I'll be y we'll be se pronuncian ligados y átonos antes del -ing.
